Birding in India : Menar Lake near Udaipur

We went to Menar Lake, an wetland just outside the Menar Village, approximately 40KM from Udaipur city, Rajasthan, India which is known as city of lakes. It was group of four people which included Mr. Vijendra, Mr. Nirmal Solanki, Mr. Shailendra Singh Chouhan.

According to the light condition, we started for Menar at 1PM from Udaipur and reached here by 2PM. Then we walked around for pelicans and flamingos which were almost in the middle of the lake.

We found the following birds in the lake:-

2. White Tailed Lapwing
3. Pelican
4. Marsh Harrier
5. Black Kite
6. Green Sandpiper
7. Wood sandpiper
8. Little Ringed Plover
9. Red wattled Lapwing
10. Norther Shoveler
11. Northern Pintail
12. Common Crane
13. Bar Headed Goose

14. Gralag Goose
15. Spot billed duck
16. Black Drongo
17. Green Bee eater
18. River Tern
19. Whiskered Tern
20. Pied Kingfisher
21. White Breasted Kingisher
22. Little Grebe
23. Siberian Stonechat
24. Yellow Eyed Babbler
25. Black Headed Ibis
26. Common Snipe
27. Jungle Quail
28. Crow Pheasant
