Black Necked Grebe is quite rare bird for Mewar region as its not sighted regularly. But during regular bird watching tour by Vijendra Prakash ( Ace Birder and IndiBirding founder), known as sharp bird spotter among peers, has again sighted this beautiful rarely seen bird at Menar’s Dhund talab in the month of January 2021!
Black Necked Grebe is known to make floating nest in shallow water and that is quite interesting! With this bird species, Menar, a recognized Important Bird Area in Mewar region has again made birders from Udaipur excited!

Vijendra was accompanied by Lokesh Devpura and Vikram Dodiya. They also spotted various species which are commonly found during month of January. But they were too excited to spot this unique bird that they spent most of the time watching it.
