Bhatewar is 32KM from Udaipur City, towards Chittor town on NH-76 just after Dabok airport. It is a village with three ponds which attracts migratory birds during winters. After we were informed by Mr. Mayur Singh, an avid birder, of Rawla Bhatera about pelicans and greater flamingos, we, ( Nirmal Solanki, Harshvardhan Singh Rathore, Vijendra Kumar Parmar and myself) went to Bhatewar pond on 10th February 2013 at around 2:30PM. Thanks to Nikon Service, I did not have my camera ( Nikon D7000 which had been languishing in Nikon Service Centre in Jaipur, India since 29th January 2013), so I borrowed a Nikon D3100 from my friend.

Driving Direction:
Drive to Dabok airport and continue on highway NH 76 towards Chittor. Just after buildings of Singhania University, look for right turn with signboard which says Bhatewar. Turn right and then again turn right in the village. After 500 meters or so, again turn right just before a police outpost. And you will reach the first pond! There are three ponds within walking distances of the first one which is adjacent to the Bhatewar village. We reached there around 3PM and were greeted with couple of Egyptian vultures circling over Bhatewar Pond. Also, we saw 7 greater Flamingos burying their beaks in water! Apart from them, we saw following birds:-
