Lesser Florican is a beautiful bird, endemic to India and classified as endangered species in IUCN list. This bird can be sighted at Shokaliya from July to September in Shokaliya grassland near Ajmer, Rajasthan. Apart from Shokaliya, Lesser Florican can also be seen in Madhya Pradesh, near Ratlam.

We, Mr. Sharad Agrawal, Vijendra Prakash Parmar and Varun Lunia, went to Shokaliya on 16th August 2015 early morning from Udaipur and reached there by 6AM. We moved around from from one grassland to another looking for Lesser Florican, Rock Eagle owl, Indian Courser, Rain Quail etc. We also met some eminent birders on that day.
